Hey, I’m Frankie Montanez, the artist behind Made by Mr. M.

Photography started as a curiosity for me, something I didn't see a way to mistakes in, but to work around, and play with what was Infront of me. I began experimenting with cameras and photographing whatever caught my eye, from small details in the world around me to the people and places that made me stop and look.

Over time, I started seeing photography differently. When I look at an image, it can feel like I’m looking into a different reality. A moment that may have seemed ordinary in real life suddenly becomes something else when it's frozen in a frame. You notice the light you walked past. The expression that lasted for only a second. The texture in the background. The way someone's presence changes an entire scene.

Photography makes you see what your eyes normally skip over in a fast-moving life.

That idea is at the heart of Made by Mr. M.

I’m drawn to cinematic imagery because it can make reality feel unfamiliar. Through lighting, composition, atmosphere, color, and emotion, I create images that don't simply show you a moment. They invite you to see that moment differently.

Whether I'm photographing a wedding, creating a portrait, or building an entirely imagined scene, I'm interested in more than simply capturing what is in front of my camera. I want to create something that feels like it belongs to a world of its own while still feeling human and real.

Based in Springfield, Massachusetts, I create throughout New England and beyond.
